The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Western Australia

Costume Hire

Well, here we go again. Yes, another show for the G&S Society, and this time what better than HMS Pinafore, or (and there is always an "or"), The Lass That Loved a Sailor. I suppose that in these days of equal opportunity "The Lad That Loved a Maiden" would be equally appropriate. The plot is typical Gilbert and Sullivan, a little far-fetched to say the least, but the songs and music say it all. A right royal rollick from beginning to end with some of the all time favourite G&S songs including "We sail the ocean blue", "I'm called little Buttercup", "When I was a lad" and "Never mind the why and wherefore".

Once again, we have gathered together a wide and varied cast; some new faces and some other faces that have been with us a while. As usual we have gathered together a cast that enjoys what they are doing and along the way will make sure you enjoy the experience of Pinafore as well.

I have had the absolute priviledge once again of having Prue Ashurst as out Musical Director, the best in the business. Sadly, this will be the final production for us in the Playhouse Theatre as the lights go out in this wonderful venue.

So join us for HMS Pinafore and we'll sail the ocean blue together!

Ted Bull (Director)
